ART THERAPY GROUP

Untitled design (11).jpg

Taking part of an art psychotherapy group is a useful way to explore personal and collective themes, within a confidential and supportive environment. Working in a group allows you to initiate positive changes while developing greater self confidence and creating new relationships. In a non judgmental environment, personal expression starts through the creative process.

The benefits of art therapy groups work are many. Participants take part in a social network of mutual support, no longer feeling excluded in their condition. Sharing feelings and experiences with others who face similar challenges, decreases feelings of shame, guilt and anxiety, improving their self-esteem, their feeling of belonging and acceptance.

Art is not always about pretty things. It's about who we are, what happened to us, and how our lives are affected

Types of Groups

Art therapy groups may be non-directive, aiming towards personal growth, self understanding and emotional wellbeing.

On the other hand groups may be aimed at a specific population with specific needs and goals. Examples of these are art therapy groups for mothers-to-be, parents and children, carers and others.
